Experience Cheyenne Frontier Days
For 10 days surrounding the last week of every July,
Cheyenne, Wyoming becomes the world's epicenter for rodeo enthusiasts and
western culture. That is because the city is home to the annual Cheyenne
Frontier Days celebration, which attracts nearly 200,000 people each year.
People come to the festival from all over the world, and they are treated to a
number of attractions and entertainment opportunities. According to event
organizers, Frontier Days is the largest gathering of its kind anywhere on the
planet.
Although fans of the rodeo love Frontier Days, there is truly something for everyone at the festival. Fans of live entertainment are treated to performances by some of the biggest names in Country music and comedy, while kids of all ages enjoy a full carnival midway with an extensive selection of rides and games. Food and beverage options are plentiful at Frontier Park, which is where the event is held, but attendees can also find terrific options for drinks and dining at the many western-themed bars and restaurants located throughout the city of Cheyenne. These establishments and their staffs do a wonderful job of catering to the crowds that descend upon Cheyenne each year.
Frontier Days activities require energy from their participants, which is why the free pancake breakfasts offered by the local Kiwanis chapter are so popular. These breakfasts are held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the event, and they serve tens of thousands of people. It is estimated that 100,000 pancakes are consumed during the festival each year.
The western United States is full of uniquely wonderful culture, and Cheyenne Frontier Days exemplifies the best of the West. Rodeo lovers enjoy the amazing competitions, while others love the event's rides, food and exhibitions. The spirit of the Wild West comes alive each July in Cheyenne.
