FedEx Forum Has More Than Just Basketball
The Memphis Grizzlies of the NBA are proud of their home in
the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee. This $250 million building was only 2
years and 4 months in the making between 2002 and 2004. It is only fitting that
a city that calls itself the birthplace of rock 'n' roll and the home of the
blues boasts an arena that is designed to showcase that heritage. The
concourses feature art and musical tributes in a Gospel Zone, a Radio and
Recording Zone, and even a Memphis Music Today Zone reflective of emerging pop,
rap, and hip-hop music.
There are more than 18,000 seats available for basketball games, including 1,000 courtside seats with the best sightlines possible for capturing the play by play excitement. Other premium seats are sold in courtside suites, club suites and boxes, and party suites. This first class seating has access to the lounge and fine dining options of the First Tennessee Club 2 hours before games. Ticket holders for the suites can enjoy luxurious seating and catered meals. All the usual concession stands and souvenir vendors are scattered around the facility for everyone's convenience.
The Grizzlies are pleased to share the basketball facilities with the University of Memphis Tigers basketball team. Besides basketball, the arena hosts a variety of concerts and family shows. These range from the Harlem Globetrotters and monster truck shows to Disney on Ice and performing artists like Carrie Underwood and Justin Bieber. The FedEx Forum is truly a community center that offers something for everyone in Memphis.
